Children's choir to join Broadway professionals in performance

LOWELL, MI (01-30-2006) - Sister Ann Frances Thompson, FSE, (pictured left) music director for Immaculate Heart of Mary School in Grand Rapids, announced that the school's children's choir has been selected to be the on-stage chorus for the New York Broadway production of "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" which is on tour and will be performing in Grand Rapids March 7-12. The children will be singing and dancing on stage during each of the eight two-hour performances.

According to Sister Ann Frances, the students, ages 8-13, are rehearsing intensely prior to the arrival of the professional cast on March 4th. Sister Ann Frances' task is to have the group of 23 students perfectly prepared for the touring company children's choir director who will rehearse with the choir for 24 hours over a four-day period. The production will take place in DeVos Performance Hall, Grand Rapids.

Sister Ann Frances, a music instructor and a music therapist, has worked with children and adults in music for over 25 years. While adept at playing several instruments, she specializes in playing the French horn.
